Teirw continued their winning ways in the league after overcoming their little setback several weeks ago when they lost two games in a row. This game was a repeat of the cup game between the two teams from a fortnight earlier. In doing so they scored eight tries, conceding just one.
The initial exchanges were fairly even until Teirw broke from their own half. The ball was quickly moved to the left for Will Richardson who ran almost half the field to get the first try. This brought an immediate response from Rhyl who pressed and won a penalty to reduce the deficit to 3 - 5.
From the restart Teirw were awarded a scrum. The ball was moved to the right and Afan Jones took the last pass to go over. He then converted to give Bulls a 3 - 12 lead.
The third try came following a poor restart from the Rhyl goal line. The ball went straight to Deio Williams who put scrumhalf Deian Roberts in for his first try. The fourth try and the bonus point came in the 35th minute when Deian Roberts broke from a scrum and gave the scoring pass to Sion Evans giving the Teirw a 3 - 22 lead.
The second half saw more of the same. From the kick-off, the Bulls were awarded a penalty just inside their own half. Deian Roberts took it quickly leaving defenders graspin at air as he sprinted 55 meters to score. Jones' second conversion made the score 3 - 29.
Deian Roberts got his hat-trick following a ruck 10 meters from the goal line. His dummy pass left the defense flatfooted as he sprinted over
Rhyl then hit back. A promising attack broke down on the Rhyl 22 when the ball was knocked on. The Rhyl right winger picked up the loose ball and sprinted to the opposite 22 before chipping ahead and winning the race for the touch down bringing the score to 8 - 34. With a few minutes to go, the forwards got in on the score. A maul from a line-out saw Teirw driving to the line with the hooker, Ynyr Roberts getting his first try. Minutes later, Rhyl failed to collect a kick forward to the 5 meter line. Teirw won the ruck and Roberts went over in the corner to make the score 8 - 44. A good win by Teirw which moves them up to third place, on the same points as Colwyn Bay who are in second place.
